“I Know You Know” – Bennet Eliott: Single Review

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Soothing and succulent vocals are undoubtedly the driving force behind Bennet Eliott’s “I know You Know” (released on November 22nd). With a very modern-pop sound, the track feels airy and gentle as it meanders down a musical river.

For whatever reason, putting my thoughts into words for this song has felt like quite a substantial challenge. Perhaps due to this not being my style or taste of music at all, yet still being able to acknowledge the quality that lies behind it. I feel the track may lack a little in depth whereby it feels very similar throughout without much focus lent towards the chorus, though I don’t think this takes too much from what “I Know You Know” aims to be.

That being said, it must be said that the vocals are genuinely top tier and despite a lack of diversity in regards to the range of notes used they are definitely the crux of the matter. For anyone looking for something which is consistently calm to just sit back and relax to, then this is definitely something for you.

I think it’s no secret what niche would instantly fall in love with “I Know You Know” as is common with a voice such as Bennet Eliott’s. He is clearly a very talented singer and I feel as though this shows so much potential to stretch himself even further and to bring more out of the power in his voice.

However, maybe a steady and soft track is what Bennet Eliott is going for and in that case fair play to him as he undoubtedly has a skill set that many musicians could only dream for. Regarding the instrumentation which feels quite psychedelic at times, it could be seen that there is much to build off from here in regards to structure and range in the notes used. Then again, I think it’s pretty cool that he’s willing to experiment with many different sounds.

Overall, “I Know You Know” is what I can best describe as a nice song though still with much potential to fill. It’s something worth giving a chance on though as there will always be people that are more likely to appreciate the sound and find relation with the lyrics.

And besides, I know you know you want to give it a listen after reading this, so why don’t you?
