BAD SOUNDS: “ESCAPING FROM A VIOLENT TIME” SONG REVIEW

After the Grammy-nominated duo, Bad Sounds made a thrilling return with their EP Escaping from A Violent Time, Vol.3, and follow-up single “Nu Me Nu Yu”. The brothers-come-collaborators, have kicked the new year off with their latest single “Escaping From a Violent Time”.

The Merrett brothers, Callum and Ewan, make up the innovative music duo known as Bad Sounds. Their music is a dynamic amalgamation of different interests and influences, resulting in a one-of-a-kind sound that blends hip-hop, rock, electronica, and traditional pop. They are inspired by iconic musicians such as Gorillaz, Smashing Pumpkins and Madonna.

This track is the latest addition to a string of singles from the duo, including hits such as “Hard MF To Luv”, and “More Than I Can Afford”. “Escaping from a Violent Time” features on their new mixtape, Escaping From a Violent Time, alongside “On The Ropes” & “Beggin’.” According to Callum and Ewan (of Bad Sounds), the theme of their Escaping From a Violent Time projects, escaping from a violent world was initially more metaphorical, but recent events have given the name a more literal meaning. Interestingly, this latest track has undergone several transformations in its journey to completion, from a country track to a fusion of ‘Sexual Healing’ and ‘Band On The Run’. However, the final version is a soulful mantra that the artists poured their hearts into.

The proficient pair previously garnered a great deal of encouragement from notable individuals such as Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Dork Magazine, and Metal Magazine. In more recent times, Bad Sounds have broadened their artistic boundaries to encompass an impressive array of collaborations. Particularly noteworthy is their latest EP Escaping from a Violent Time, Vol 3 which includes joint endeavors with the likes of Jake Isaac and promising rising star Tamzene. These thrilling collaborations have afforded Bad Sounds the opportunity to venture into new musical territories and achieve unprecedented levels of triumph.
