Finally, the wait is over. After a lengthy 5 year wait for new music and then disbanding for a couple of years, “Showtime” has been released by Catfish and The Bottlemen. They started teasing their return earlier this week, with posters being put up in and around Manchester, and one Instagram post which amassed over 100,000 likes in under 24 hours.
The anthemic, stadium-ready new single “Showtime” is out now via Island Records, Packed with powerful vocals and catchy melodies that are reminiscent of their old sound. On their previous album, “The Balance,” which was released in 2019, McCann worked with famed producer Dave Sardy, whose impressive resume includes collaborations with some of the biggest names in music, to create this masterpiece. Sardy’s expertise is evident in the track’s impeccable composition, which expertly blends the band’s unique sound with his own signature style. The lyrics are a celebration of the band’s return to the limelight, showcasing McCann’s vocal range and dynamic style.
Now teasing a tour, with the lyrics: “Back to the fields again, When I’ve headlined Leeds I’ll be back my friend,” they have announced two Summer sessions gigs, that will take place in Cardiff on the 19th of July and Edinburgh on the 24th of August.
