If I’m being fully honest, as I’m writing this my ears are still ringing.
Metallica tribute band “Moretallica” had everything that you’d come to expect (and more) from a band formed way back in 2012. Their quality, energy and experience shone through at a vibrant night Manchester’s “Rebellion”, and leaves them as a must watch for “metal-heads” across the country.
Playing a set of nearly 2 hours, the night felt incredible in regards to value for money, with tickets just shy of £14. Although I wouldn’t exactly consider myself an outgoing fan of this genre of music, I can safely say I enjoyed the night and can understand why so many people have such a great love and appreciation for bands such as “Metallica”, with clear raw passion shining through.
“Moretallica” had this at the very heart of their set. From mind-bending guitar solos, “Lars” esque drumming and more than capable vocals, the crowd were left bouncing at the end of the night, even after belting out seemingly every word to their favourite tracks off all 11 albums.
On the night, I was accompanied by my friends Alex and Reuel, with the latter being very much a fan of this style of music. Speaking to Reuel as well as other members of the audience after the gig, it was clear that whilst as a newcomer to this style of music, I was not the only one impressed by what was to be witnessed on stage. This could be seen by even just the sheer amount of head-banging present as well. Any gig goer would’ve easily enjoyed that night, especially with such incredible value for money as previously mentioned.

In terms of metal music in general, I think regardless of the antics at Rebellion, it still probably isn’t my thing as personally I prefer lyrics and vocals to take slightly more precedence. Then again, if we all thought the same, then what would be the fun in that?
However, “Moretallica” have definitely given me a greater appreciation for the genre itself as well as the work of “Metallica”, having been at the centre of such a great night. Regardless, I think there’s definitely enjoyment to be found for anyone in the act of trying a new experience.
Overall, if this style floats your boat then I cannot recommend them anymore to you, and would advise checking the dates around the UK (as the band is commonly touring). Their stylish guitar’s and noticeably prestigious amps help to create that professional yet still raw sound, as they have clearly proven themselves in the top bracket of tribute bands in the country.
