Palershade, an indie rock group from Manchester released their single, Doing The Same earlier this year, which is one of four singles they have released over their time on the music scene. Coming out of Salford, the band combines big choruses and melodic guitar solos to give their signature sound.

Doing The Same starts with a captivating guitar solo off the bat, which catches listeners attention straight away, giving that nostalgic indie feel of the 2010’s which is hard to replicate. The strong vocals then come in, similar to the voices of popular indie rock bands, such as Catfish and the Bottlemen, or The Wombats, yet giving it their own Palershade twist. The drums and bass give a great driving foundation for the vocal and guitar to sit on top of – all in all each element of the track complement each other really well, creating a blended and uplifting sound.
The track as a whole has an upbeat feel, and you can really tell that the artists have fun with the playing. When listening to the lyrics, like most songs in this genre, they have a deeper meaning, helping to resonate with listeners and connect with them. To me, this track emanates the feeling of being young and free without a care in the world, which is definitely a feeling we all as listeners appreciate!
