NIA ARCHIVES: “UNFINISHED BUSINESS” SONG REVIEW

Unfinished Business” is the latest release from Nia Archives, This track joins the previously released “Crowded Roomz” and the titular track “Silence Is Loud” in exploring introspective themes related to family, loneliness, the power of silence and navigating the complex concept of her 20’s. Following from her second Boiler Room set which was hosted by Charity Shop Sue to celebrate International Women’s Day in Nottingham. The event saw an all-women, trans and non-binary crowd. 

Unfinished Business” is Co-produced with Ethan P. Flynn who is known for his work with FKA Twigs and David Byrne, to produce a unique take on jungle riddims. The song explores the concept of fleeting relationships through the use of subtle Big Beat inflexions and tempo shifts.

The latest track is an energetic and expansive composition that reflects on a previous situationship, while the Rory Wood-directed video showcases Nia’s candid expression of her emotions by breaking the fourth wall. She shares her frustrations with the audience from various settings such as a chip shop, pub, house party, and a rave, delivering her message directly to the camera. 

Nia has taken the music industry by storm with her incredible journey that began in 2020. While the jungle genre is still prevalent in her music, her upcoming album demonstrates her willingness to experiment with various other genres. Nia aims to create music that breaks all the boundaries and focuses more on songcraft and adding more music having jungle elements. 

Since arriving on the scene, she has released numerous EPs that have earned her widespread recognition and praise from critics. Her distinctive sound and style have caught the attention of many, including the BBC Sound Poll and Brit Awards, who have acknowledged her talent and potential. Aside from her impressive accolades, she has had the privilege of opening for the legendary Beyoncé during her tour stop in London. This incredible opportunity not only showcased her talent but also highlighted her growing influence and impact within the industry.
