GO BURY YOUR MONSTERS: “SCIENCE OF THE HEART” – SINGLE REVIEW

Rating: 5 out of 5.

With a debut single this strong, Go Bury Your Monsters are a group to look out for! The newly emerging alternative quartet have really showcased their talents in Science of the Heart, and have cemented the track as a playlist staple.

The deep bass line fills the song and creates such nostalgia, it’s perfect for a long sentimental car ride through the countryside. Matching this with soft guitar riffs and steady drums, the instrumentation of Science of the Heart is almost heavenly to hear. All the different segments of the track blend together flawlessly, and it’s impossible to imagine how they were all recorded miles apart, from Ireland to Italy and Spain. The skill of each and every band member is insane, and to create such an interesting single without even being in the same studio is a magnificent feat.

Within the track itself, it feels like a mix of every song ever made, yet feels like a brand new one simultaneously. Science of the Heart is drowning in nostalgia, and is very reminiscent of older ’80s synth pop, which, to me, screams sentimentality. Everything about the track is quite unique and comforting, and all in all, Science of the Heart is an incredible debut single for Go Bury Your Monsters.
