Trouble Calls My Name is the latest release from Manchester band SHADE who have successfully added another indie anthem to their already impressive repertoire ahead of their headline show at Gorilla in Manchester.

The track opens with a riff combining the class of Manchester greats such John Squire and Noel Gallagher to become what I believe is the shining light of the song. This is swiftly followed by the drums clattering in and it sets an early tone that this is going to be more than just a foot tapper.

Written and produced by Luke Owens of SHADE, his talent as a producer is clearly evident amongst the flow of his distinguished vocal style. As the verses hush as to build greater focus towards the songs unsurprisingly catchy chorus, a sweet feel of resolution resounds clearly as the riff comes bounding in once again.

It feels nice to have a well placed softer bridge, almost acting as a brief rest that once built back up again only causes the chorus to hit even harder one final time.
And of course, you can’t forget such a resounding riff to close it all off.
I think some of the lyricism might be slightly cliche, but that being said I don’t think it takes too much away from the overall grasp of the song.
Having previously supported Louis Tomlinson in Italy, the band are clearly keeping up the quality that has led them to such amazing opportunities already and will undoubtably keep them going much further into the future. With much on the horizon for the band, it is clear that SHADE are sticking around and are still one to keep your eye on.
