Desolate and lonely, yet simultaneously filled with an unmistakable passion and intrigue, this new single from London-based alternative-folk six-piece band The Slow Country can draw any listener in, like a child listening to stories of old by a fire. “Waking Song” is completely self-funded and self-released. It is The Slow Country‘s first single, though certainly not the last. This song was recorded in Liverpool at Carney Sound Production, featuring artwork by artist Hugo Winder-Lind (Frequent collaborator of The New Eves). Though this is their first single, The Slow Country are certainly not new to the scene, and have opened for many bands across the UK, including The Last Dinner Party, Trudy, and the Romance and Pem. After selling out multiple venues throughout Manchester, they’re headed toward London, where they will play at venues all across the city.
