CHARLI XCX: “VON DUTCH” SONG REVIEW

“I was born to make dance music.. I came from the clubs.. xcx6 is the album I’ve always wanted to make.”

Charli XCX on making “Brat”

Charli XCX has released the leading single “Von Dutch” from her upcoming sixth album called “Brat“. In a recent tweet, she announced that the album will have 15 songs, be 41 minutes and 23 seconds long, and will be released this summer. This album is a follow-up to her previous album Crash.

Honestly, I’m so happy that the queen of pop is back.. This electrifying lead single, for her brand new album coming out in summer “Brat”, is only a snippet of what she is capable of. Fans on social media have been loving the new club-classic-esque track Charli has dropped.

I’m just living that life, Von Dutch, Cult classic but it’s still pop. I get money, you get mad Because the bank’s shut” she chants over a blaring synth-anchored electropop beat produced by EASYFUN.

In the music video for Von Dutch, Charli boldly embraces her unique position as an artist who straddles the line between pop star and cult favourite. With a bold and unapologetic demeanour, she creates chaos in an airport, embodying the archetype of an overgrown brat as she struts down moving walkways, trespasses onto empty planes, and frolics on the baggage carousel. The stunning visual was expertly directed by Torso and filmed on location at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport.
