A rising indie-pop band from the North, Diago recently released their third single “See You Go”, an upbeat track highlighting the trials and tribulations faced in a relationship.
With a steady baseline and beat, “See You Go” is immediately a catchy tune that will stick in your head for days. The advanced sound of the song matched with the incredible guitar solo really expresses the band’s similarities to artists such as Sam Fender and Mitch Rowland.
Hailing from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Diago are steadily rising in popularity, and thanks to their strong timeless sound, their music is loved by many. After forming in 2023, Diago have released two singles prior to “See You Go” (“Wild” and “You”) and have performed at many gigs across the north, including their most recent show at Round The Corner Liverpool on the 26th July.

Due to having two strong singles under their belt, the release of “See You Go” was highly anticipated and Diago did not disappoint. After opening the song with a heavy baseline, the first verse kicks in, full of raw emotion, the yearning of the lyrics disguised by the upbeat instrumentals and tone of the whole band. The song is a story of a relationship, when parting ways is the right thing to do, but not always the easiest. The 1975-esque guitar solo after the chorus expresses this longing and anger, and adds so much raw passion to the track. Diago’s indie-pop sound has earned them many fans over the past year and as the 1970s -80s music style is having a resurgence, many more will follow. With increasing popularity of bands like The 1975 and Wallows, Diago are heading onto a paved path towards a similar status.
